ICON
IP Phones
Native IP phones with application intelligence provide the ability
to leverage best-of-breed services provided by IP telephony service
providers or supported in-house, by an enterprise IT department.
The
IP1001 is ICON's initial entry into the business VoIP telephone market.
There is a significant market opportunity associated with VoIP phones.
Today,
the PBX replacement market is approximately $8 billion annually. VoIP
adoption in this market space is growing rapidly and all major business
communications system vendors have hedged their future on this technology.
Service providers are actively exploring IP Centrex - a hosted service
model for delivering IP telephony services to VoIP endpoints. In their
August 2002, report entitled, "U.S. Traditional
and Next-Generation Centrex Services Markets," Frost & Sullivan
states the IP Centrex market is expected to grow from 13,000 lines
in 2001 to 10 million lines by 2008. |
